Piers Introduction

The Paramount ME requires a suitable permanent or portable pier, which is not included with the mount.

Existing/Custom Piers

If you already have a permanent or portable pier, Software Bisque sells two types of "Wedge to Pier Adaptor Plates" that can be mounted to an existing pier top, and to attach the Paramount ME to the pier.

Minimum Pier Height for the Paramount ME

The minimum height of the pier can be used with a Paramount ME depends upon the following parameters:

• Length Optical Tube Assembly.

• Length of the counterweight shaft.

• Your latitude.

The photographs below show the Paramount ME mounted on an 11-inch pier, with the latitude adjusted to 25°, 40° and 50°.

Please note that Software Bisque provides these photographs for reference only. Please take careful measurements of your observatory and equipment when determining the required height of your pier.
