The Paramount ME Wedge to Pier Adaptor Plate is designed to attached the Paramount ME to third-party piers or tripods that were not specifically designed to do so.
The Software Bisque Wedge to Pier Adaptor Plate is not included with the Paramount ME. It must be purchased separately.
The Software Bisque Wedge to Pier Adaptor Plate is not required to mount the Paramount ME to a Software Bisque pier.
Many third-party pier manufacturers have specifically designed their piers to directly attach to the Paramount ME and therefore do not require the Wedge to Pier Adaptor. Please contact the manufacturer of your third-party pier for more information.

There are two sets of three mounting holes. The Primary Mounting holes are used for adapting to piers that have a large, flat top. There are integrated “washers” on the bottom of these holes in case the mounting surface is not perfectly flat.
A second set of three holes (see Figure 3 – Description of Base Plate hole patterns.) matches the mounting pattern of the Paramount and Paramount GT-1100S models. They can be used to adapt the older style piers to the Paramount ME.

In the above diagram, the celestial pole is towards the bottom of the page. The three primary mounting holes make an “arrow” that should point northward (in the Northern Hemisphere, southward in the Southern Hemisphere) when the base plate is mounted. See Figure 4 – Wedge to Pier Adaptor Plate dimensions (plan and side view).
