Installing the Optional Databases

TheSky Mobile can access and display objects from two optional, large catalogs, as well as objects from any TheSkyX-compatible Sky Database (SDB).  These databases can be downloaded from the Software Bisque web site, then copied

Optional PGC Catalog

• 1.1 million galaxies from the Principle Galaxy Catalog (PGC)

• File Name: PGCFaint Mobile.plot

This file can be downloaded from the Software Bisque web site:

1. Go to www.bisque.com.

2. Click Support > Downloads.

3. Search for iOS.

4. Click TheSkyX Mobile PGC Catalog (Optional Database) link.

5. Click Download.

6. Save this file to your computer.  The archive will be uncompressed and the file name PGC Faint Mobile.plot is saved in the Downloads folder.

Optional UCAC 4 Catalog

• 130 million stars from the UCAC4 Catalog

• File Name: UCAC4 Mobile.plot

This file can be downloaded from the Software Bisque web site:

1. Go to www.bisque.com.

2. Click Support > Downloads.

3. Search for iOS.

4. Click TheSkyX Mobile UCAC4 Catalog (Optional Database) link.

5. Click Download.

6. Save this file to your computer.  The archive will be uncompressed and the file name UCAC4 Mobile.plot is saved in the Downloads folder.

Optional Sky Databases

Sky Databases (SDB) that are created by TheSkyX Professional Edition can be copied to the mobile device and displayed on the Sky Chart.  See “Copying Optional Databases to the iOS Devices” on page 16 for details about saving this file to your mobile device.
