A host of valuable information is literally at your fingertips for every object you see, or can find. That’s more than 130 million of them when the optional large star and galaxy databases are in place and should be enough book your observing list for quite some time.
The Find command, described above, explains how to reveal extensive information about any object. You can also show the same information by tapping objects on the sky chart.
Tap once on an object to display its common name, or catalog identifier.
To show even more information, tap and hold your finger on the screen for about one second and a small cross hair appears on the chart. Drag your finger over an object of interest, and release. The Object Information window shows extensive object-specific information for this object. Be sure to scroll toward the bottom of the report to read fascinating observing notes and other descriptions recorded by seasoned astronomers.
