LX-200 HIGH PRECISION POINTING DISCONNECTS LINK

    ISSUE

Using TheSky with an LX-200 in High Precision Pointing Mode, attempting to slew causes the telescope link is terminate. In version 2.1x of TheSky, HPP mode did not interfere with telescope link.

    RESOLUTION

TheSky Version 4.00.100 added “passive” support for LX200 High Precision pointing and support for the LX200s new long format of data (HH:MM:SS/DD:MM:SS). “Passive” means the user must turn these options on in the LX200 via the hand paddle or through the Telescope, Options, Terminal command.”:P#” toggles HP on and off. “:U#” toggles the long format on and off. By default the LX200 starts up without HP on and in the short format. HP is found in LX200 Versions 3.30/4.30.
