LONG DELAY BEFORE OBJECT INFORMATION DISPLAYED

ISSUE

When identifying an object in TheSky, there is a long (~15s) delay before the Object Information dialog appears. Also, when checking the Data, File Locations, that dialog takes a similar amount of time to appear.

RESOLUTION

Check that the catalog data are present. Unless the entire data were installed to a hard drive, this would normally require that TheSky’s CD-ROM be in the CD-ROM drive.

If an anit-virus or disk-doctor type utility is installed on the system, try disabling it. It has been reported to Software Bisque that newer versions (e.g. 7.98) of WinGuard can inhibit TheSky’s operation.
