Software Bisque Knowledge Base Article – 254
THESKY CANNOT OPEN DOCUMENT (E.G. NORMAL.SKY)
ISSUE
Upon launching TheSky, message displayed:
“A required file ‘C:/Program Files/Software Bisque/TheSky/User/Documents/(Sky document).sky’ cannot be opened.”
where (Sky document) could be Normal or any other…
and/or
“Failed to open document”
After pressing OK, TheSky continues with “Untitled” document.
RESOLUTION
Another instance of TheSky using the indicated document is already running on the system. The user should do one of the following:
1. Close the newly started instance and instead work with the former one.
2. Open and work with another document (i.e. not the one referred to in the “could not be opened” notice).
NOTE: Because of the potential for uninitialized parameters within the “Untitled” document, it should not be used. Unpredictable behaviour may otherwise result.
