ALL IMAGES CAPTURED BY ORCHESTRATE ARE FITS

ISSUE

When using Orchestrate to acquire images through scripting, the images are in the FITS format.

RESOLUTION

This behavior is by design. Any remote process that acquires an image via CCDSoft (whether it’s Orchestrate or a remote client copy of CCDSoft) causes the image to be saved in FITS. The FITS image file format is the most flexible image format and provides the most information about an image in a standard format. This convention also gives remote clients a standard image format.
