TIME ZONE INPUT ONLY ALLOWS WHOLE-HOUR INPUT
ISSUE
When attempting to set TheSky’s Data, Site Information time zone to a non-integer value (e.g. 5.5), the value is truncated to an integer (e.g. 5.0). As a result, the Sky Display and other data are computed with a thirty-minute discrepancy.
RESOLUTION
TheSky does not permit fractional time zones (e.g. 5.5) by default. If you need to use a fractional time zone, you must first change a related Registry entry. Here’s how:
1. If running, close TheSky.
2. Open the Registry Editor (Start / Run, type REGEDIT, then select OK).
3. Switch to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER window (listed under Window menu).
4. Open the key list to Software/Software Bisque/TheSky/MISCELLANEOUS.
5. If not already present, add a value named “EnterNegativeTimeZones” (without the quotation marks) of type string (Edit, New, String Value).
6. Set the value of the EnterNegativeTimeZones key to “TRUE” (without the quotation marks).
7. Exit the Registry Editor (your changes will automatically be saved).
TheSky will now accept fractional time zone values.
