CANNOT FIND TTY32.DLL WHEN ACCESSING DSS IMAGES
ISSUE
When the Create Image button is clicked in TheSky, an error message “cannot locate TTY32.dll” is encountered. This same message is encountered if RealSkyView or CCDSoft are run independently.
RESOLUTION
If any dynamic link libraries for the applications TheSky, CCDSoft or RealSkyView cannot be found, the user’s path environment variable must be updated. To change the path environment variable, do the following:
1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
2. Double-click the System icon.
3. From the Environment Tab on the System window, select the Path variable from the System Variables list.
4. In the Value text box, add the path “c:/Program Files/Common Files/System” (without the quotes). Make sure to separate existing paths with a semi-colon.
5. Click OK.
6. You must reboot your computer before the Path change will take effect.
Run the application (TheSky, CCDSoft or RealSkyView) to ensure that it can now locate the DLLs.
This is a known bug under Windows NT 4.0. Microsoft is working on a solution. See the Microsoft Knowledge Base article Q148375 for more information about this bug.
