CHANGING FILL COLOR OF STARS IN CHART MODE
ISSUE
How can I edit the fill color for stars in Chart Mode or on printed charts?
RESOLUTION
By default, stars in Chart Mode (View | Chart Mode) are “filled” using their spectral color, and not with the Display Properties Fill color. This setting can cause the color of stars on printed star charts to be incorrect (that is, the fill color on black and white printers can be translated to “white” and not the appropriate spectral color). Here’s how to “turn off” the spectral color and use the Display Properties Fill color instead.
-
Click View | Chart Mode.
-
Click View | Stellar Options.
-
Adjust the More/Less Spectral Color slider control to the *leftmost* position. In this position, the spectral color is turned off, and the Display Properties Fill color is used.
-
Click Stellar Display Properties to display the Properties dialog box.
-
On the Display Properties tab, click the Fill button, and then select the desired fill color for stars in Chart Mode.
-
Click OK.
