CANNOT DISPLAY OBJECT INFORMATION FOR CERTAIN OBJECTS IN THESKY6

    ISSUE

I click on an object on the Virtual Sky, and there is no information about it.

    RESOLUTION

TheSky6’s 360-degree photograph of the Milky Way Galaxy shows many bright extended objects (such as the Andromeda Galaxy, M31 or the Pelican Nebula, IC5070). At wide fields of view, the objects in the Milky Way photograph do not aligned perfectly with the coordinates of the actual objects, so there may appear to be a “ghost” object on the Virtual Sky. Therefore, clicking on the “misaligned object” in the photograph will not show any information on the Object Information dialog box.

    Things to try:

    • Zoom to a smaller field of view.

    • Click View | Real Mode Options and clear the Milky Way Picture option to turn off the color photograph of the Milky Way Galaxy.

    APPLIES TO

    TheSky6, all Editions.
