ONE OR MORE CONSTELLATION DRAWINGS IN THESKY6 IS NOT DISPLAYED

    ISSUE

The Constellation Drawing of, for example, Orion does not appear on the Virtual Sky.

    RESOLUTION

TheSky6 is supplied with detailed drawings for 62 of the 88 constellations. So, not every constellation has a detailed drawing. If a specific constellation drawing does not display, yet is listed in the View | Display Explorer | Image Groups | Constellation Drawings list, try the following:

    1. If Windows Service Pack 2 is installed, see Article 1109 before proceeding.

    2. Click View | Display Explorer, and navigate to the Image Groups | Constellation Drawings list. Verify that the name of the constellation appears in this list.

    3. If the constellation drawing is listed in the Display Explorer, verify that the associated photograph (TIF image) for this consellation is present on your hard drive. Photographs of the constellations reside in the Large and Small folders of TheSky6’s Data/Pictures/Constellations folder. TheSky6 loads the low-resolution or high-resolution version of the picture based upon the field of view.

    4. Verify the TheSky6 is configured to display the constellation drawings. Click View | Reference Lines, and then mark the “Drawings” option in the Constellation Group. Clear the “Only Near Screen Center” option to show all constellations.

    5. From TheSky6 Serious Astronomer or TheSky6 Professional Edition, click Data | Image Manager, and then open the Constellation Drawings group. Make sure that a check mark appears next to the constellation name, and then click the “Save Image State” button (TheSky6 version 6.0.0.25 and later required). On the Image Manager dialog box, click the Place Image tab. The constellation drawing should be centered on the Virtual Sky. Click Close.

    APPLIES TO
