METAFILE SYMBOLS FOR CHART MODE OBJECTS DO NOT APPEAR
ISSUE
I’m attempting to edit the symbol for objects in Chart Mode. The Symbol viewer on the Display Properties tab of the Properties dialog box does not show any symbols, and clicking the Edit button results in a “blank” list of symbols.
RESOLUTION
User-defined “metafiles” must reside in the “My Documents/Software Bisque/Chart Mode Metafile Symbols” folder. By default, TheSky6’s default set of metafiles is not automatically copied to the “My Documents/Software Bisque/Chart Mode Metafile Symbols” folder. Therefore, no metafile pictures are displayed in the Display Properties tab.
To use TheSky6’s default set of metafiles:
-
From Windows Explorer, navigate to TheSky6’s Chart Mode Metafile Symbols folder. By default, the folder is named:
C:/Program Files/Software Bisque/TheSky6/Data/Pictures/Chart Mode Metafile Symbols
-
Click Edit | Select All.
-
Click Edit | Copy.
-
Navigate to the My Documents/Software Bisque/TheSky6/Chart Mode Metafile Symbols folder and then click Edit | Paste.
Metafiles will now be displayed in the Display Properties tab of the Properties dialog box.
This behavior is by design.
Note to Windows 98 and Windows Me Users
There is a known bug with TheSky6 version 6.0.0.27 and earlier that prevents metafiles from being listed in the Select Metafiles dialog box under Windows 98 and Windows Me.
This bug will be resolved in version 6.0.0.28 and later. Watch the Hot Fixes page for the update.
