ERROR 101 WHEN 58% INTO INSTALLATION
ISSUE
When installing TheSky v4, all is smooth until 58%, at which point the following error is displayed:
“Setup is unable to find a hard disk location to store temporary files. Make at least (831KB) free disk space available, and then try running setup again. Error 101”
RESOLUTION
Check each of the following:
1. There must be a temporary folder/directory (usually C:/TEMP) and environment variable defined. Look for TEMP=C:/TEMP, or similar (type “SET” at DOS prompt).
2. The temporary folder/directory must have adequate space available for the installation program to work with.
3. Make sure there are no other applications running concurrently (especially anti-virus programs, Norton Commander, PC Tools, etc.).
