CAN’T EDIT COMETS/MINOR PLANETS IN THESKY V4

ISSUE

The user tries to edit, add or import a comet or minor planet in the Data, Comets and Minor Planets dialog, but after choosing OK, the change is not actually made.

Also, the “Apply” button never becomes available.

RESOLUTION

The Comets.dat or Mpl.dat file is probably marked as Read Only. Remove the Read Only attribute from the file.

WINDOWS 95: Use Explorer to check the attributes for these files in the same folder containing TheSky (Sky.exe). Right-click on the file and choose Properties to view and modify these attributes.
