STARS APPEAR ON STAR CHART THAT ARE NOT ON SCREEN

    ISSUE

When a star chart is printed, many “ghost” stars appear that are not displayed on the screen. They are printed as gray dots, not black stars.

    RESOLUTION

If many small unexpected galaxies appear on a star chart, the non-stellar objects from the Guide Star Catalog are being plotted as galaxies, not as stars. To correct this, from the Display menu, click Nonstellar Options. Click the Plot As Stars radio button in the Nonstellar GSC’s group box.
