Need to replace my 8-year-old computer.  Getting Windows 7.  It was recommended that I get the 64-bit.  Will my 3-year-old pro version of TheSky 6 work with 64-bit, or am I looking for trouble?  I can also opt for 32-bit, but they're telling me that 64 is the future.

TheSky6 Latest Update supports Windows 7 32- and 64-bit editions (a caveat that will be addressed in the next update).

Note that there are other potential non-Software Bisque product related "pitfalls" to moving to 64-bit right now (even though it is the future):

  • Make sure that your other hardware (camera, filter wheel, focuser, USB to serial adators, etc.) have Windows 7, 64-bit drivers.
  • User Account Control (UAC) can present installation issues (for software and hardware).
  • Windows 7 64 can allow installation of 32-bit drivers; however, the driver may not necessarily work.

Hi,

I'm unsing Win 7 64bit edition since a few month and Sky 6 Prof. is working very well. You should not have any problems.

Michael
